Privacy policy

What personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. Written in plain English, because a privacy policy you cannot read protects nobody.

Who we are

Nifty Labs ("Nifty", "we", "us") is an AI consultancy. Nifty Labs is currently operated by Ben Hales as a sole trader, and Ben Hales trading as Nifty Labs is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are incorporating Nifty Labs as a UK limited company; when that completes we will update this section with the registered company name, company number and registered office.

For anything about this policy or your data, contact us at ben@niftylabs.co.uk.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need for the thing you came to us for. We group it by how we got it.

When you contact us

When you use the site

We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify you. It gives us aggregate counts (page views, where traffic comes from, how many people complete the form) so we can see what is working. No advertising or tracking profiles.

When we reach out to you

Nifty runs business to business outbound. We may hold business contact details (name, role, work email, company and the public signal that prompted us to get in touch) for people at companies that fit who we help. We source this from public and professional sources and from enrichment providers, and contact you about whether our work is relevant to you. You can object or unsubscribe at any time and we will stop. See your rights below.

Our lawful bases

Under UK and EU data protection law we rely on:

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Nifty, and only so they can do that job. These include:

We put a data processing agreement in place with each external provider. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK and EU, including in the United States. Where data moves there, we rely on the appropriate safeguards for that transfer, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision where one applies.

How long we keep it

We keep lead and prospect data only as long as we have a reason to: to deliver what you asked for, to follow up while there is a live conversation, and to meet our legal obligations. We review it periodically and remove what we no longer need. If you ask us to delete your data, we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email ben@niftylabs.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority in the EU, though we would always rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

California privacy notice

If you are a California resident, the categories of personal information we collect are set out above (identifiers such as name and email, and commercial and internet activity information). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Contact us at the address above to make a request.

Cookies

We keep the site as close to cookieless as we can. For the detail of what is set and how to manage it, see our cookie policy.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our data practices change, including when Nifty Labs incorporates and the controller becomes the registered company. The date at the top shows the current version.
